Tips and Tricks for the BBQ Grill
Here are a few of my tips and tricks that I use when grilling out on those hot summer days and cold winter nights.
Rub your grill grates down with oil before you start your grill. Doing this will ensure that your meats or whatever your grilling won't stick to the grill.
Once you start your grill, wait 5 minutes before you use it, so that way it gives it time to build up its heat. If using charcoal, then your wait time will be much longer. You have to wait for the fire on the charcoal to die down and the coals to start turning a gray color. You should be ready to use your charcoal grill in about 15 to 20 minutes.
Please make sure that you use metal utensils and not plastic. Why not plastic you ask? Because plastic will melt on your grill.
Make sure that you keep small children away from the grill as it can get extremely hot.
Keep a spray bottle of water next to the grill to put out any flare ups that may occur while using your grill. That way your food doesn’t burn. No one likes burnt food.
When cooking chicken, cook it on low heat and turn it often. That way you will have juicy chicken with that incredible crispy skin. Remember low and slow is the way to cook your chicken on the grill.
Cook your beef on high heat so that you get that great sear on your steaks, but most importantly you'll have those great grill marks on your steaks. We all strive to get those grill marks on our steaks.
When I cook my corn on the grill I use fresh sweet corn still in the husk. That way I can cook my corn in the husk right on the frill. It will be some of the most sweet and flavorful corn that you will ever eat.
If you are gonna use wood chips in your grill, soak the wood chips in water for at least 2 hours before adding them to your grill. That way you can be assured that you will get the best smoke flavor out of your wood chips.
